While Mike Tyson Heals, Jake Paul Threatens Conor McGregor With Mike Perry Boxing Bout Confirmation

Jake Paul will fight Mike Perry instead of Mike Tyson on July 20. Originally scheduled to face Tyson on July 20 in Arlington, Texas, their fight has been postponed until November after ‘Iron Mike’ suffered an injury during training. This isn’t surprising, considering the former heavyweight champion is 58 and suffers from a host of health issues (including mobility issues, which have required him to use a wheelchair at times).

This is why ‘The Problem Child’ will now face former UFC star and the biggest boxing star in the world, ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry on July 20, albeit at a different location in Tampa, Florida. While fans were predictably outraged when Paul, 27, and in his prime, fought 58-year-old Tyson, his match with Perry has gone over much better with fight fans.

And now it looks like the former Disney star has set his sights on another superstar: Conor McGregor. ‘Notorious’ is of course the biggest star in the history of mixed martial arts and was the first in the sport to cross and box Floyd Mayweather in 2017. And Paul has seemingly called for another fight against McGregor in a lengthy post on his Instagram account.

“1 Mike, 2 Mikes, 3 Mikes, 4

The fact is that every opponent has touched the floor

Five months before Tyson and I go to war

So in the meantime, me and Perry are going to make Tampa roar

I’m not afraid of anyone, anytime, anywhere, anywhere

On July 20th it will be a W again, so let’s say grace

For the BKFC champion, who gets down on his knees

Then we go to Ireland and take McGregor’s share capital

#PaulPerry Live on DAZN pay-per-view,” Paul wrote.

Perry, of course, is currently signed to BKFC, America’s first bare-knuckle boxing promotion, where he is a co-owner. And that includes Conor McGregor, who became a minority shareholder in the David Feldman-led promotion earlier this year.

In his post, in addition to confirming that he would fight Perry, the YouTuber stated that he “will go to Ireland and take over McGregor’s share capital” after fighting ‘Platinum’, likely a reference to ‘Mac’s equity in the BKFC. However, there is a slim chance that Paul will fight McGregor for a very simple reason: Dana White.

Dana White is standing between a possible fight between Conor McGregor and Jake Paul

UFC CEO Dana White and Jake Paul don’t like each other. Paul has, of course, been vocal in his criticism of the UFC, especially on the controversial topic of fighter pay. And the UFC boss was just as sharp in his criticism of Paul, calling him a ‘.’ “PPV turd” two years ago.

And Conor McGregor, because he’s signed to the UFC, needs the promotion’s blessings before he can box Paul (or anyone outside the UFC). And Dana White will almost certainly disagree with his biggest superstar helping Paul make money.

Former UFC star Jorge Masvidal who retired last year, is preparing to face an old rival Nate Diaz in a boxing match on July 6. In a recent interview, ‘Gamebred’ had revealed that he was originally eyeing a boxing match against ‘The Problem Child’ and needed the UFC’s permission since he was technically still under contract with the promotion.

However, the idea was promptly rejected by Dana White, who, according to Masvidal, did not want him to make money for the famous boxer. And if McGregor were to approach the boss with a request to fight Jake Paul, the answer would most likely be a polite but firm no.
