SA vs AFG head-to-head record before South Africa vs Afghanistan T20 World Cup semi-final

SA vs AFG head-to-head record ahead of T20 World Cup semi-final: South Africa and Afghanistan will face each other in the first semi-final of the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad on June 27 (Thursday). While the Proteas topped Group 2 and are one of two teams undefeated in the competition, the other being India, the story of the competition is Afghanistan.

The Afghans defeated New Zealand, Australia and Bangladesh in the space of 18 days to earn their right to the semi-finals. Although this is their first time playing the semi-finals, they will be up against a side notorious for suffocating in the knockout stages of the competition on most occasions. It is perhaps for this reason that the Proteas have never been able to play the World Cup finals, despite going to the World Cups with some of the most enviable sides.
